Band-resisted push-up

A bodyweight horizontal press performed from a plank position. Hold the band across the upper back and press against increasing resistance.

Required: Resistance band.

  • Place the hands slightly wider than shoulder width.
  • Create a straight line from head to heels.

How to perform the movement

  1. Bend the elbows and lower the chest.
  2. Pause near the floor.
  3. Push back to the start.

Technique cues

  • Brace the abdomen.
  • Keep the elbows angled slightly back.
