Band lateral raise

Raise the arms away from the body to emphasize the lateral deltoids. Stand on the band and raise the arms out against increasing tension.

  • Stand tall with a light resistance.
  • Keep a soft bend in the elbows.

How to perform the movement

  1. Raise the arms out to the sides.
  2. Pause near shoulder height.
  3. Lower slowly.

Technique cues

  • Lead with the elbows.
  • Avoid swinging the torso.
